Wire assembly

Tube and metal sheet parts

Welded wires, metal tubes and sheet parts assemblies are very often used in addition to metal wire forming, tube bending, metal sheet component folding.
Indeed, these welded elements make it possible to manufacture trolleys,
POS displays, metal furniture or complex items made of metal wire, bended tubes and metal sheets.
Several types of welding are available in order to meet your requirements: spot welding, TIG welding, MIG welding, robot welding, electric resistance welding.

SFAM designs and manufactures to meet your unique specifications, we are wired to your ideas!

Our know how and high technology machinery enables us to weld and assemble metal wire in different diameters ranging from Ø 2 mm to 18 mm, tubes from Ø 8 to 42 mm and metal sheets with a thickness of 2 mm to 10 mm.
SFAM manufactures to your needs convex, bended, folded, profiled wire.

Field application:

These wire pieces have different functions:

  • Custom made trolleys
  • Medical furniture
  • Handling carriages
  • Laundry carts
  • Tube banisters
  • Order-picking trolleys
  • Design furniture
  • Design chairs
  • POS displays
  • Laundry hangers
  • Counter displays
  • Custom made displays

 Welding processes:

There are many welding solutions, it is therefore very important to qualify the quality of the welding, the welded spot aspect, the economical aspect, the pull-out resistance.
We have 3 major solutions to metal wire welding:

TIG welding:

  • Travail fin et précis
  • Fine and precise work
  • Average productivity
  • Good quality welded seams and good mechanical characteristics
  • Welding in all positions
  • Good weld bead aspect

Welding possible with or without metal input

MIG welding:

  • High productivity compared to TIG welding
  • High speed welding
  • High metal deposit (several kilos/hour)
  • Limitation of deformation
  • Limited number of re-welding operations
  • Good quality welded seams and good mechanical characteristics
  • Welding in all positions
  • Good weld bead aspect
  • Automated process usable in robotics

Electric resistance welding:

  • Fine and precise work
  • Good productivity
  • Good mechanical resistance
  • Vertical welding of the bracket
  • Very discreet welded spot
  • Does not burn the galvanized treatment
  • Welding without metal input

Tip:

Stainless steel tends to blacken as far as the welding is concerned,
it is therefore often necessary to proceed to a cleaning by passivation treatment (matt aspect) or by electro-polishing (bright aspect).
In order to obtain an optimal finish, think about a surface treatment!

Wire section and materials used:

We can use round metal wire sections for diameters going from Ø 0.2 to 18 mm.
Materials used include: C9D mild steel – S235 steel – galvanized mild steel – stainless steel (430 stainless steel, 304 stainless steel, 302 stainless steel, 316 food grade stainless steel) – aluminium/zinc – Crapal – Benzinal – Galfan wire …
Other possibilities on demand…

Tube sections and materials used:

We use metal tube sections: round, square, oblong for diameters ranging from 8 mm to 42 mm.
Materials used include: C9D mild steel tubes, S235 steel tubes, pre-galvanized steel tubes (zenzimir or electro-galvanized), stainless steel tubes (430 stainless steel, 304 stainless steel, 302 stainless steel, 316 food grade stainless steel), specific tubes…
Other possibilities on demand…

Finishing and painting of metal parts:

We can ensure the finishing and painting of metal parts by our integrated epoxy and rilsan paint line : white zinc plating or zinc flake coating, powder coating, hot-dip galvanizing, chrome, electrolytic polishing, passivation…
