Wire chamfering:

Chamfering is a simple taper turning machine operation that is very often used in addition to metal wire forming. Indeed, the edge breaking at the end of an axle can allow a better travelling of the part or improve the part’s engagement in its lodging.
This deburring operation makes the finished part less aggressive and therefore safer.

Chamfering processes:

The chamfering machining operation (with a chamfering or deburring tool) is one of the most used ones in the manufacturing of mechanical parts.
Nevertheless, major advances in the machines conception have permitted to obtain chamfers directly on each side of the part without any problem as far as the positioning of the machined part or the use of tools are concerned.


Tip: In-line chamfering enables to chamfer ends inaccessible after bending.
A chamfer quoted 2×45° designs a 45° edge breaking, the edges are back 2 mm compared to the cutting.
